Ice sculpting is a classic must-do when visiting Arctic Lapland. Working with your hands completely absorbs you and is a relaxing and at the same time very intense experience.

Our experienced Ice Sculpting instructor will begin the class by giving you some background on the history of working with ice and an introduction to the tools involved. Next, you are given a block of pure Torne River ice and a chisel and is free to explore this Arctic element using your imagination and practical skills!

CRYSTAL CLEAR RIVER ICE

For all our ice sculpting activities we use only natural ice harvested from the nearby Torne River. The combination of pure water, the river’s speed and the Arctic cold creates ice that is perfectly crystal-clear and free from bubbles. The natural river ice is also soft and easy to work with, even for the beginner.

EPHEMERAL ART

Part of the fun of ice sculpting lies in the ephemeral nature of ice. Knowing that the piece you create won’t last forever makes it easier to release your inner artist and let creativity run wild. For practical reasons, you will not be able to bring your artwork home but we guarantee that you will have a great time creating it.
