Fjellborg Arctic Lodge is located at the heart of the natural and cultural area known as Arctic Lapland. Home to rolling fells, alpine areas, forests, lakes and free-flowing rivers, Arctic Lapland is a perfect “get away from it all” destination for those in search of authentic wilderness experiences and the true spirit of adventure. There is no other place in continental Europe with such vast, uninhabited and pristine landscapes as Arctic Lapland.

Arctic Lapland forms is a part of Sápmi, the cultural land of the indigenous Sámi people and Sámi reindeer herding and husbandry is central to the local culture and visible in many of the landscapes that we traverse by dog sled and snowmobile.

WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS

Besides reindeer, the animal we most frequently encounter on the trail is the majestic moose, Alces alces, and birds such as ptarmigan, grouse and eagle. The wilderness that surrounds Fjellborg Arctic Lodge is also home to brown bear, lynx and wolverine. These predators are shy, however, and will most often sense our presence long before we are aware of theirs. If we pay close attention and are lucky, we will be able to see their tracks in the snow.
